Bessie Kramer

Bessie C. Kramer MANTEO - Bessie Carnes Kramer, 82, passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009. Born in Rome, Ga., she was the daughter of the late James Euclid Carnes and Catherine Dempsey Carnes. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore Charles Kramer and her siblings; three sisters and 13 brothers. She is survived by her son, Theodore C. "Ted" Kramer Jr. of Manteo and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kramer lived in the Richmond, Va., area for several years and, after her husband's death, served as president of Kramer Brothers Inc. She retired to Manteo and enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and her special dog, Magnum. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Twiford's Funeral Home, Colony Chapel, Manteo. A funeral will be held at Bliley's Funeral Home, Central Chapel, in Richmond, on Monday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. with a visitation before the service, from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will occur in Holy Cross Cemetery.
