Linwood Woodruff Obituary

Linwood Woodruff Sr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Linwood G. "Woody" Woodruff Sr., 78, passed away Oct. 28, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Vivian Woodruff; daughter, Vivian Ann Bradshaw and her husband Terry; son, Linwood Gray Woodruff Jr. and his wife Patricia, all of Chesapeake; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Lillian Mathis and brother, Alvin Woodruff. Woody was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, a Lionel Model Train collector and an avid gardener and a member of Kempsville Baptist Church and retired after 30 years as a auto body mechanic with Kline Chevrolet. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A graveside service will be held today at 1:30 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. Memorial donations may be made to the Chesapeake Special Olympics, 462 New Zealand Reach, Chesapeake, VA 23322 or the Autism Society of America. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.woodlawngroup.com. Woodlawn Funeral Home is in charge.
