Christopher Parsons Obituary

Christopher B. Parsons PORTSMOUTH - Christopher B. Parsons died Oct. 28, 2009. He was surrounded by his family. Chris died with dignity and respect and on his own terms after a long struggle with ALS. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the ALS Association, Medi Hospice and all the friends who supported us through these difficult times. He is survived by his wife, Kathi and daughter, Miacha. He is also survived by his mother, Annette Parsons of Portsmouth; father, Milton Parsons of Virginia Beach; and two brothers, Andrew Parsons of Virginia Beach and Joshua Parsons of Swansboro, N.C. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Oct. 31, at Simmonsdale Presbyterian Church, 5106 Vick St., Portsmouth. Arrangements are being handled by the Cremation & Burial Society of Hampton Roads.

Kathi, Miacha & all the family. I was so honored to be Chris's Sister In law and to have the pleasure of knowing him. He was a wonderful human being and will remain in our hearts and memories always.

Thanks to everyone who attended the service. Shortly before Chris passed, Kathi and I happened to be sharing happy memories about him (in his presence), which I'm sure he also enjoyed. He passed peacefully, and I miss him everyday. Chris showed a compassion for others which, frankly, I am still trying to understand. Why was he so nice to me when I was such a brat?? He was a great brother and friend. I love you, bro.

Kathi, Miacha, Annette, Milton, Andrew, Josh, Granny- and all who were there at the memorial service on Saturday. Chris is smiling now. Happy that we celebrated his life and grateful to be at peace.
