Barbara Deffely Obituary

Barbara Jean Deffely COLONIAL HEIGHTS - Barbara Jean Deffely, 75, of Colonial Heights, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Ilda Boatman Adams, and was preceded in death by her son William Deffely. Barbara was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and St. Ann's Choir. Survivors include her husband, Joseph James Deffely Jr.; daughter, Teresa Ann McKay Colonial Heights; four sons, James Joseph Deffely and wife Reginia of Brookline, N.H., Michael T. Deffely and wife Teresa of Delta, Ohio, Robert Charles Deffely of Colonial Heights, Paul Anthony Deffely and wife Iris of Doswell, Va.; two sisters, Nancy Stocker of Ottumwa, Iowa, Ruth Boltz of Pueblo, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, VA 23834, with Father Lou Ruoff officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. The funeral procession will leave St. Ann Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, for interment in Bermuda Memorial Park Enon, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church Food Pantry. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
