Mary Mishler Obituary

Mary K. Mishler ELIZABETH CITY - Mary Kight Mishler, 95, of the 300 block of Pearl St., died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City. Born in Pasquotank County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas Kight and the late Alethia Ann Ballance Kight and was the widow of Mr. John F. Mishler. Mrs. Mishler is survived by her daughters, Betty Price and Clarice Flowers and husband Howard, all of Elizabeth City; sons, Bobby Cartwright of Camden, John Mishler and wife Karen of Florida, Lawrence Mishler and wife Donna of Chesapeake and Marty Mishler and wife Brenda of Elizabeth City; a sister, Alverta Forehand of Virginia Beach; 17 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren, and 14 great- great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and her parents, Mrs. Mishler was preceded in death by a daughter, Earlene Williams; a son, Alton Cartwright; and a grandson, Charles Earl Williams. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. at Twiford's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Rick Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and at all other times at the residence. Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church St., Elizabeth City, is assisting the Mishler family. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.twifordfh.com.
