Ronald Raymo Obituary

Ronald James Raymo VIRGINIA BEACH - Ronald J. Raymo, 65, passed away at home Nov. 7, 2009, surrounded by family. Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Sharon Raymo and Patti Allen; sons, David and wife Klymeka Vasquez, Scott (Dewey) Cohen; grandson, Ryan Allen; and a host of family and friends. Born in Syracuse, N.Y., Ron was a mechanical engineer before relocating to Virginia Beach in 1976 where he owned Raymo's Coney Island at Pembroke Mall, later known as The Bread Board, and then became involved in real estate. Our Dad was a generous, giving person with a big heart who touched many lives. Known for his storytelling, he could keep you laughing! He was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Because he loved boating and fishing, his ashes will be scattered over Chesapeake Bay. We love you Dad and will miss you very much! Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family.

Not sure what to say?

November 24, 2009

Patti, Sharon, David & Dewey: We are so sorry for your loss. We really enjoyed working with Ron and loved his stories about Syracuse in the old days and of course the fishing stories, Lake Gaston, etc. He always amazed us with how little he complained and how upbeat he always was with everything he had to deal with, we definitely admired him for that. We will truly miss him.

Dear Raymo Family: We were so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He had such a wonderful sense of humor, he could make you smile even when you didn't want to. We had some good times when the girls were little in your home in Bridgeport. I know he is in a better place, looking down on you and will always be there taking care of you. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this sad time.

May his love and kindness, live forever in the hearts of all those that loved or knew him. I enjoyed Ron's special sense of humor most of all, whenever we would see him, his kindness and helpful advice. He may have been in pain at times in years past, but always like a brave soul, he had a smile on his face. Love and Affection goes out to his children and family, may his lesson of love comfort and be with you always.

Dear Raymo Family,
We just received an email from Dan Kirsch about the passing of your Dad.
I grew up two streets over from your Dad in Mattydale. I often would be hanging out with your Dad and his brother and the rest of the gang. As you know your dad was a something else on the high school gymnastic team. Had alot of fun double dating with him in our senior year.
We saw him three yrs. ago at Virginia Beach. He was still telling stories.
Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you in your loss.
