As a new member of the Harris family in the early 1970's, I came to know and admire Mr. Bradshaw. He was a close friend of my wife's mother, Mrs. Marie Harris.
Donald Bradshaw was one of the most talented men who visited the Harris home frequently. He could repair just about any car problem, build home additions, and was a master electrician. He was also enjoyable to talk to with his easy manner of speech. I loved to listen as he smoked his pipe and gave some very sound advice about how to fix my car, or whatever we were discussing.
It was also delightful to watch as he plucked the strings of my new guitar and demonstrated just how the blues should be played. I tried but never learned to play like him.
We lost contact over the years, but I will always treasure the times we spent together. He was as my wife, Mary (known to him as Annette), has said often: "Bradshaw was like a father to me."
I pray God's comfort abide with Mr. Bradshaw's entire family during this time of loss. Donald Bradshaw served extremely well the U.S. Navy, his business customers, and most loyally, his family and friends.
May he rest in peace.

From Vince & Mary Mitchell, who lived in Park View, Portsmouth in the early '70s.
