Gerald Rosenmeier Obituary

Gerald R. Rosenmeier VIRGINIA BEACH - Gerald R. "Jerry" Rosenmeier, born Nov. 3, 1932, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children Nov. 10, 2009, in Sentara Leigh Hospital. Born in Beaver Dam, Wis., Jerry graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a MBA in social work and spent most of his career as executive director with the United Way, moving his family to Virginia Beach in 1971. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, owned a house down the street from Lambeau, and attended the Ice Bowl in 1967. Jerry taught classes at TCC, loved music and playing the organ, and even dabbled in making TV commercials for local companies. Jerry will be forever remembered by his family: son, Greg Rosenmeier and wife Tia; daughter, Kathie DeLauri; and son, Tim Rosenmeier and wife Pam; six grandchildren, David and Amber DeLauri, Carly, Kelsey, Ryan and Brett Rosenmeier. Friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation with the family Sunday, Nov. 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach.
