To the family of Rev. Dr. Johnson,
I express my deepest, heartfelt condolences to you and all those that were touched and loved by Reverend Johnson. He was and still is a beloved role model that is deeply missed. He lived the life that Jesus Christ lived before us. He always had a smile, a kind and loving word to share with each and every one. He also said that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. He was a fatherly figure to me and he will be fondly remembered and missed. I am a better person today for the influence that he had in my life and to see how he has touched so many lives. The life that he lived did speak for him and will carry on. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God loves you and so do I.

To the family of Rev. Dr. Cary Johnson I would like to express my deepest condolences on the passing of our loved one. Rev. Johnson was a great inspiration to me and like a father as well. He left this departed from us believing and living what he preached. I am so honored to have befriended such a man as he was. My prayer is that God will shower your family in your time of sadness and that you all continue in his legacy of loving and living for GOD.

To The Johnson Family,
May the Lord give all of you strength during this difficult time. Marcus, we are long time friends and I understand what you are going through. I know I just informed you that my father passed in May and I was "daddy girl" (and also his birthday gift)! I know its hard but just think about about all the good times that you both shared and try and erase the sad! Remember the memories and everything that he instilled in all of you. It's AMAZING how God will get you through and give you the strength! You will think about him everyday and have your moments...but, it's okay. That's HEALING! Keep the faith and stay strong as you know your dad would want you too. Know that he's in Heaven and that he is NOW ALRIGHT/BETTER than ALRIGHT! HE LIVED A WONDERFUL LIFE OF 80 years! Truly a Blessing! We are here for you...
May God Continue to give The Johnson Family Strength,
Love and God Bless,
The Hudsons (Ebony and Eric)

To Kathy and the family of the late Rev. Dr. Cary Johnson, Jr.
Take comfort in knowing that your father and loved one is shouting the harvest over in that land where the 'wicked shall cease from troubling and our weary souls will be at rest'. I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Johnson, who made it possible for me to return to pastoring in October of 1999, at the St. Joseph AME Zion Church, Chesapeake, VA., after retiring from the United States Air Force. I will never forget when Bishop Milton Alexander Williams, Sr., read the Disciplinarian Questions, asking if any pastors where retiring, Dr. Johnson stood up and said, 'Bishop, I am. I've been pastoring 44 years, and its time.' But Dr. Johnson made it crystal clear, that he was retiring from pastoring, not from preaching. That calling he fulfilled until God called him home. Like the Apostle Paul, he fought a good fight, he finished his course, he kept the faith. And one day, you will see him again. We will keep you and your family in prayer.

To Kathy and the entire family of the late Dr. Cary Johnson:
I was shocked and saddended to hear about the passing of your father. In many ways, your father always reminded me of my father--always putting God and family ahead of himself, always being positive, and always being supportive. There is no way that I can offer sufficient words to ease your pain right now. However, after losing my father in 1991, I have learned to cherish all of the wonderful times that I had with him. If you hold on to those memories, you will always be able to keep his best years with you. I know that your father (like my father) is in a better place because he is with the Lord. No more pain, no more disappointments, and no more stress. Now he will be reunited with your wonderful and loving mother.
I will keep you in my prayers--today and in the future.
