Willoughby Paylings Obituary

Willoughby C. Paylings CHESAPEAKE - Willoughby Colby Paylings, 84, of the 300 block of Keith Court, passed away Nov. 15, 2009, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 18, 1925, in Norfolk County. He retired after 43 years of service as a fork lift operator with the Naval Supply Center. He was predeceased by his wife, Lydia Griffin-Paylings and a daughter, Joan Paylings-Slight. He is survived by five daughters, Velma Griffin-Spence, Robin Paylings- White (Willie), Mary Paylings-Mercer, Arnetta Paylings and Nadine Paylings; four sons, Leroy Griffin (Eardine), Willie Paylings (Cynthia-fiance), Lorenzo Paylings (Yvette) and Tyrone Paylings; one sister, Sarah Paylings; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Friday in Cathedral of Faith COGIC, 2120 Portlock Road. Dr. G. Wesley Hardy will officiate. Interment will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 120 Rollings Wood Road one hour prior to service for procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Chapel, is in charge.
