Frances Lucka

Frances Lucka VIRGINIA BEACH - Frances "Fran" Lucka, 84, died Nov. 16, 2009, surrounded by her family. Fran was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and worked in Washington, D.C., during World War II and later retired from civil service. She was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church and an active volunteer for several organizations in the community. Fran was a generous and giving person with a big heart who touched many lives. She was a joy to all who knew her, well loved and is now at rest with Jesus. She will be greatly missed by all. She left behind to cherish her memory Barbara and Steve Bailey, Erica, Alyssa and Thearin, Karen and Nahum Beristain, Jonathan and Juliette, Maryellen and Todd Maurer, Samantha and Joshua. She also leaves behind two brothers, Leo Endler and wife Annie and Paul Endler and wife Rene. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Lucka. A funeral will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Nimmo United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clark Cundiff officiating. The burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www. hollomon-brown.com.
