Frances Lucka Obituary

Frances Lucka VIRGINIA BEACH - Frances "Fran" Lucka, 84, died Nov. 16, 2009, surrounded by her family. Fran was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and worked in Washington, D.C., during World War II and later retired from civil service. She was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church and an active volunteer for several organizations in the community. Fran was a generous and giving person with a big heart who touched many lives. She was a joy to all who knew her, well loved and is now at rest with Jesus. She will be greatly missed by all. She left behind to cherish her memory Barbara and Steve Bailey, Erica, Alyssa and Thearin, Karen and Nahum Beristain, Jonathan and Juliette, Maryellen and Todd Maurer, Samantha and Joshua. She also leaves behind two brothers, Leo Endler and wife Annie and Paul Endler and wife Rene. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Lucka. A funeral will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Nimmo United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clark Cundiff officiating. The burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www. hollomon-brown.com. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, Seaside and Harbourway for their love, support and the kind loving care they provided to our mother. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 20 Interstate Corp. Center, Suite 233, Norfolk, VA 23502.

Mrs. Lucka was one of my favorite patients. I will remember her fondly. my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Barbara, Karen, Mimi and families,
Please accept my condolences at the passing of your mom. Although years and miles have separated us you are in my thoughts and prayers. My dad is very sad and please know that although we are not able to be there physically we are al thinking of all of you.
