Charlie Brown Obituary

Charlie Lee Brown CHESAPEAKE - Charlie Lee Brown, 57, of the 2900 block of Sir Meliot Drive, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at his residence. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of Rosa L. Brown and the late Richard T. Brown Jr. He retired as a zone manager at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 30 years of service. He was a member of Solid Rick Church of God Apostolic Faith. He leave to cherish his memory two daughters, Melinda Rawlings of Richmond, Va., and Kendra Brown of Portsmouth; one son, Benjamin Dubenion of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; three sisters, Deborah Ann Brown (Melvin), Dorris Goldston (Larry) and JoAnn Mitchell (Allen), all of Suffolk; one brother, Alvin Brown of Chesapeake; his mother, Rosa L. Brown; his grandmother, Eugenia Eason; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; two special cousins, Joey Johnson and William Brown; other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at Crocker Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will assemble 10 a.m. at the residence (2905 Sir Meliot Drive, Chesapeake, Camelot) for the procession to the chapel. Charlie was the best supervisor I ever worked for. He taught me a lot and was a good man. My heart is heavy. I hope the family soon finds peace of mind and solace.
