Nathaniel Simon Obituary

Nathaniel H. Simon Sr. PORTSMOUTH - Nathaniel Harrison "Nat" Simon Sr., 91, of the 1000 block of Chisholm Circle, died Nov. 19, 2009, in Portsmouth. Born in Demopolis, Ala., he retired in 1975 after 35 years as a bookkeeper. He completed high school from the public school of Meridian County, Alabama. Survivors include his daughter, Ruth Simmons of Augusta, Ga.; five sons, Nathaniel Simon Jr. of Portsmouth, Willie Simon of Augusta, Robert Earl Simon of Brooklyn, N.Y., Grover Cleveland Simon of Philadelphia and Anthony Simon of Brooklyn; three sisters, Rachel Miller and Ludie Scott, both of Jefferson, Ala., and Amanda Connor of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Corprew Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
