Elwood Parker Obituary

Elwood Parker VIRGINIA BEACH - Elwood "Ray" Parker, 68, of the 3000 block of Island Lane, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009 at his home. Born in Clinton, N.C., Mr. Parker was the retired owner of Parker Masonry Co. He was a member of Lynnhaven Masonic Lodge No. 220 and the Virginia Beach Jaycees. Mr. Parker coached recreation league baseball, enjoyed fishing and traveling, and was also a car enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne K. Parker; daughter, Christina Damon and husband Donald; son, Patrick Neil Parker; three grandchildren, Leigh Ann, Cori Paige, and Dylan Nicholas Henderson; and a brother, Michael Fisher and wife Susan, all of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by his mother, Alice Fisher of Chesapeake, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a stepfather, Millard R. Fisher. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
