Edith Dickenson Obituary

Edith M. Dickenson PORTSMOUTH - Edith Marie Tribble Dickenson, 84, left this earth Nov. 20, 2009 to be with her Lord and to reunite with the husband she loved. A Portsmouth native, she retired from Portsmouth Christian School as a teacher and was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church in Portsmouth, and the Eastern Star in Edenton, N.C. She was the widow of John T. Dickenson III since his death in 2006. Survivors include her children, Fred Dickenson, Richard Dickenson, Victoria Venturini and James Dickenson; her grandchildren, Katherine, Jennifer, Foster and Audrey; and her great-grandchildren, Matthew, MacKenzie, Andrew and Alexis. A burial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, in Olive Branch Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Poteet of St. John's Episcopal Church will officiate. Foster Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
