Ethel Cuddington Obituary

Ethel R. Cuddington PORTSMOUTH - Ethel Rowe Parker Cuddington, 89, passed away peacefully Nov. 25, 2009, with loving family at her bedside. Ethel was born May 19, 1920, and was a lifetime resident of Portsmouth. She was a longtime member of First Friends Church and Daughters of the Confederacy. Ethel was predeceased by her parents, 11 brothers and sisters, her son, Ogie Parker, and great-grandson, William Ewers. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters and two son-in-laws, Patricia Parnell Parker and Cary "Coach" Parker, and Sharon Parker Creekmore and Eddie "Buddy" Creekmore; nine grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; and three great-great-granddaughters. Ethel loved spending time with her church family and friends. She cherished time spent with all of her grandchildren and their families. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Jim Myers. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and other times at 3140 Trumpet Road, Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Friends Church. www. SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
