George Piggott Obituary

George D. Piggott VIRGINIA BEACH - George Dean Piggott, 80, passed away Nov. 27, 2009. Born in Weymouth, Mass., Mr. Piggott retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service and from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve No. 99 and was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores V. Piggott. Survivors include four children, Claire Vascherault and husband James of Chesapeake, Robert Piggott and wife Evelyn, Patricia Piggott and Susan Shelor and husband Greg, all of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Charles, Cheryl and Christina Goss, Rachel, Alyssa and Eric Piggott; and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Moorse of Ellenton, Fla., and Clara Cenci and husband Stephen of Milton, Mass. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home where a funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Tributes may be sent to his permanent memorial at www.mem.com.
