Master Chief Scherman, was a sailors sailor. I often tried to get to the ship before Snapper but he loved it when I showed up and he was already out drinking his coffee. The Navy has thrived on the sailors both enlisted and officer that were influenced by "The Master Chief". He is spoken of often and missed every day. His family should be honored to say Master Ernest Scherman was my Dad. He was my sea daddy, Rest easy Master Chief. C

Master Chief and I served aboard Caloosahatchee. He, with the entire crew and and Dorothy with the families, were the backbone of the ship. There is a special place in Heaven for both of them. I pass my sincere condolances to the family.
