Robert De Jesus Obituary

Robert De Jesus VIRGINIA BEACH - Robert De Jesus, 70, of the 1100 block of Shenvalee Drive, died peacefully at home Nov. 27, 2009. A native of Manhattan, N.Y., he was the son of the late Jose and Edith Alvarez De Jesus. Robert served in the Navy and worked in the fast food industry for many years from which he retired eight years ago. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Shelba Riggs De Jesus; two sons, Jay A. and Marc C. and his wife Kristi; three grandchildren, Mia, Logan and Olivia; a sister, Maria; and two brothers, John and Joey. His family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452 or the American Heart Association, 500 Plume St. East, Suite 110, Norfolk, VA 23510. Shelby, I remember you and your husband very well. DJ, as I called him, taught me how to water ski at Munden Point when i was 12. That would have been 46 years ago. I adored your husband and think of him often. I am so sorry for your loss. He is one of those special people in your life that you never forget because he made a lasting impression on you. God be with you in your sorry.
