Roy Strawhand Obituary

Roy L. Stawhand Sr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Roy L. Strawhand Sr. went to be with the Lord Nov. 24, 2009, at Jamestown Commons, his home with many friends. Roy was a member of Eastminister Presbyterian Church and was loved by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Mary L. Strawhand; son, Roy L. Strawhand Jr.; two daughters, Cathy L. Tulak and husband Michael, Karen D'Auria and husband Anthony; two sisters, Ruby Richardson and Hazel Phipps; nine grandchildren, Katelyn, Christopher, Matthew, Corey, Sue, Christina, Karen Elizabeth, Stan III and Lisa; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Aaron, Anthony, Andrew, Ayden and Avery; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Strawhand was preceded in death by both parents; a son, Stan Harrinson Jr. and a brother-in-law, Bill Richardson. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday, Nov. 30, at Eastminister Presbyterian Church with a memorial service to follow at noon. The Rev. David Zavadill will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gideon's or to Eastminister Presbyterian Church. Please share your love and condolences with the family at www.mem.com.
