Mrs. Austin served as a member of the Community United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Kempsville Homemakers Club. She is remembered for her unyielding devotion to her family, as well as an old cookie box that she stocked weekly for her grandchildren. Dear Family,

I will always remember Tootie at times of loss on the Boyce side of the family. She would be the first one at Edna's house, bearing food in bounteous quantities, and taking over all kitchen duties for the duration.

Tootie was like a ministering angel to us in our grief, and our gratitude for her comfort was boundless.

You have my deepest sympathy for your loss, and all my love always.
