William Nixon Obituary

William Fred Nixon VIRGINIA BEACH - Capt. William Fred Nixon, 67, of Flagler Beach, Fla., passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at his residence. Capt. Nixon, a retired 767 pilot for US Airways, resided in Flagler Beach for the past four years after moving from Virginia Beach where he had resided for 40 years. Born Nov. 4, 1942, the only son of the late Fred Nathaniel and Mary Victoria White Nixon, he is survived by his wife of 39 years, Alexis (Kenyon) Nixon, eight children, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held sometime in January; please contact the Nixon family for more information. Arrangements by Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, Flagler Beach, Fla.

Alex and Family,

Sorry to hear of Bills passing, Alison and I enjoyed Chatting with him at the flight school when he was instructing at Hampton Roads Executive. I was fortunate to have had him as a instructor. Tailwinds Friend!!

Dad, I am proud to be your son and your friend. I know you are no longer here but I know you are with us everyday. I will miss everything about you. My life and so many lives were positively affected by you. Our lives were filled with joy & value with you in it and our lives were better because of you. I have so many great fishing, hunting, holiday, family and fatherly memories that I will hold on to forever. You were great in so many ways. Thank you for a great 31 years!
