I came to work this morning and heard about the tragic loss on one of my dearest friends. Karen walked into my office four years ago and offered to volunteer for our new wildlife refuge (Waccamaw NWR) and became our first and most dedicated volunteer. Karen's love for wildife and people was an inspiration to me and to the many visitors. Karen was so full of love and excitement and her spirit will be forever missed but not lost. I am positive that the her love and radiant beauty will always be felt on the mystic waters of the Waccamaw and Pee Dee Rivers. Karen was one of God's many blessings and I pray that God will give you the strength and healing necessary to overcome this tragic loss.

My deepest sympathy for the Heely Family, Karen was an amazing women and talked about her family and the love of her family often. She taught me so much in the short time we had together. I hope that I can be half the business person that she was. She was full of life and love and will be deeply missed.. she was and still is truly inspiring.

Yesterday was the past...
Memories remembered
Memories cherished, adored and some locked away
Learn and grow from them, they brought you to the present

Today is the present...
Live each day like there is no tomorrow
Live each day for you and remember to dream
Live life and walk towards the future

We laughed with Karen in the past...
We shed a tear for Karen at the present
We will forever keep Karen with in our heart in the Future...
