Arthur Harrison Obituary

Arthur L. Harrison NORFOLK - Arthur Lewis "Buddy" Harrison passed away unexpectedly Nov. 23, 2009, at the age of 77. He was a former Marine who served from 1949 until 1956 active duty and until 1960 as a Marine Reservist. He took much pride in achieving the rank of staff sergeant at the young age of 19. During the Korean War, he was assigned to AM Tracks. He later retired from Johns Brothers Heating and Cooling after 30 years of employment. He was last employed by Bob's Gun Shop and worked there for eight years until his death. He was very knowledgeable with firearms of all types, many valued his knowledge and skills. Since childhood, he also loved passing time fishing with his brother, Gordon Stephens Harrison, who preceded him in death in 2007. He had a passion for music as well. He was "a little book of music knowledge." He loved and knew everything from Nat King Cole to Credence to his newest favorite, Taylor Swift. He is survived by his special niece and "standing Friday lunch date," Bonnie Jo Owens (Jack); his nephew, Alan Angevine; his great- nephew, Gordon Thomas Burrell, who also took tremendous pride in being his mentee and co-worker at Bob's Gun Shop; other extended family members; and many, many friends he made and kept over the years. To honor his wishes, the family will scatter his ashes with his brother's - at their favorite fishing hole. To further honor his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Condolences can be made to the family at www.altmeyer. com.

I am sorry to hear of "Buds" passing. I enjoyed working with him at Bob's. He really knew his a/c and firearms and he was fun to work with. I will miss him, and our discussions.
Sincerly,
