Elsie Jane Dozier VIRGINIA BEACH - Elsie Jane Dorsett Dozier died Dec. 1, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Dozier was born in Rocky Mount, N.C., the daughter of the late Franklin R. Dorsett and Elsie Thames Dorsett. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard O. Dozier, and sisters, Ann Brown and Frances Griffin. Mrs. Dozier is survived by her brother, Raymond Dorsett of Rocky Mount, N.C.; sister-in-law, Caroline Pernell of Cary, N.C.; brothers-in-law, James Brown of Seneca, S.C., Milton Griffin of Dortches, N.C., George Dozier of Rocky Mount, N.C., Eugene Dozier of Tarboro, N.C.; son, Richard O. Dozier Jr., wife Susan; grandchildren, Jennifer Lewis and husband Nathan, Amanda Hartigan and husband Nicholas; great-grandson, Caleb, Richard III and wife Merrill, Emily, Heather and Jonathan; son, Robert R. Dozier and wife Cynthia; grandchildren, Christina and Shaun; son, David T. Dozier and wife Vicki; and grandchildren, Matthew and wife Amy, Sarah, Joseph, Stephen, Michael and Elizabeth. She was former secretary of Dozier Tank and Welding Co. She was a member of Kempsville Church of Christ. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 5, at noon by Senior Minister Randall Childress at Forest Hills Cemetery, Nashville, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to the Kempsville Church of Christ food pantry. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
