Alice Richardson Obituary

Alice R. L. Richardson NORFOLK - Alice Rhodema LeGrand Richardson, 85, departed this life Dec. 2, 2009, ending a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 29, 1924 to the late Wiley and Ida Jane LeGrand, Rockingham, N.C., and was a member of Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church, Norfolk. She was the wife of the late Joseph D. Richardson who departed Dec. 2,1966. She is survived by her seven children, Edward (Sharletta) of California, JoAnn and Carlton of Norfolk, Michael from Harrisonburg, Va., Patricia (Michael) Lewis from Maryland, Rita of Norfolk and Toni from Charlotte, N.C. She was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers; and also leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Ida Mae Hartwell; niece, Catherine Gault; nephew, Grady "Leroy" Sizemore (all from New Jersey); four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 7, from 6 to 7 p.m. with funeral arrangements by Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk. The funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec. 8, 11 a.m. at Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church with burial in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. www. gravesfuneralhomeinc.com.
