Kenneth Colden Obituary

Kenneth E. Colden Sr. SUFFOLK - Kenneth E. Colden Sr., 56, of the 400 block of Calvin St., died Dec. 2, 2009, in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. Born in Portsmouth, he was employed with Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a electronics technician for more than 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Shirley S. Colden; one daughter, Kenyatta Johnson; one son, Kenneth E. Colden Jr. (Jameela); mother, Marie Cross Colden; one sister, Deborah A. Colden; two brothers, Eugene G. Colden Jr. (Monique) and Jemal Colden, both of Richmond; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Eugene G. Colden Sr. A funeral will be held at noon today in Calvary Evangelical Church, Chesapeake, with Pastor Allen McFarland officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing was Monday at noon. The family will receive friends at 412 Calvin St., Suffolk. The body will be in the church today at 11 a.m. Fisher Funeral Home, Effingham St., is in charge. www. fisherfuneral.com.
