Mary Bish Obituary

Mary N. Bish VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary N. Bish, 70, passed away peacefully Dec. 10, 2009, in the comfort of her home. Mrs. Bish was born Dec. 23, 1938 to Edward and Nell Wampler in Norton, Va. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk. She loved reading and spending time with her family and friends. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 53 years, Richard Bish; five children, Tammy Toms and husband Richard, Richard E. Bish and wife Mary Bergen- Bish, Bettina Privitera and husband Ronnie, Kasey Bish, and Ashley Zebra; five grandchildren, April Capeland, Amanda Hoover, Jeremy Privitera, Kate Bish, Savanna Bish; and four great-grandchildren, Alizarin and Conner Capeland, Seth and Jacob Hoover. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at First Baptist Church of Norfolk with a funeral at 12:30 p.m. Following the service at the church, burial will be held at 3 p.m. at Princess Anne Memorial Park. Dick, I've just returned from Minersville, PA and northern VA. I am so very sorry to hear about Mary. My brother, Louis, and I want you to know that you and the family are in our thoughts and prayers. We'll all miss Mary very much. All our love.

Mary Bish was one of the strongest women I've ever met. She fought a long, hard fight to the finish. She loved her husband, her family and her Saviour. I feel blessed to have known her and to have been able to call her my dear friend.
