James Oleynik Obituary

James Charles Oleynik VIRGINIA BEACH - James Charles Oleynik, 56, died Dec. 10, 2009, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital from cancer. Jimmy was predeceased by his wife, Dianne, who died Dec. 1, 2009, and his parents, Charles and Mary Oleynik. He leaves behind his sister, Mary Butler and her husband Bill and his nieces, Cathy Butler-Kuzmick, Lindsey Bishop and Shannon Butler and his dog, Chipper. Jim was accomplished in many areas. He was a carpenter who designed and built houses. He was a mechanic who built and rebuilt cars, motorcycles, lawnmowers and anything with a motor. He loved to work on computers, building them from scratch. He was a potter, a gardener, a bread maker, a photographer, a loving and devoted husband, uncle, friend and son. He will be missed. A joint service for Mr. and Mrs. Oleynik will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Sentara Bridge and Hospice Program.

Jim left NRHA with many new ideas and gifts. He is sorely missed of himself and his talents. His ingenuity taught us to THINK outside of the box.
