Geraldine C. Loiacano NORFOLK - On Dec. 16, 2009, God called home His "Jewel" Geraldine Chilton Loiacano, of Bolling Avenue. Geraldine "Gerry," a native of Thaxton, Va., was the daughter of the late Theodore Henry Chilton and Berta Franklin Chilton. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sampson C. Boone Jr., and Joseph John Loiacano; her sisters, Lois Grant, and Janice Litchfield; and three brothers, Glenn Chilton, Stewart Chilton, and Harold Chilton. Gerry, along with her husband "Buddy" owned and operated Boone's Confectionery in Lamberts Point for many years. She later worked as a teacher at Breezy Point Kindergarten. Until her recent illness, she enjoyed working at Bits & Pieces of Ghent. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years. Survivors include her two sons, Wayne Boone and his wife Carol of Chesapeake and Sammy Boone and his wife Christy of Bedford, Va.; sisters, Norris McCormick of Crew, Va., and Doris Brawner of Louisiana; grandchildren, Jennifer Nichols and her husband Brian of Chesapeake and Aaron Boone and his wife Shannon of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and four great- grandchildren, Patrick, Abigail Nichols, Grace and Reese Boone. The family expresses their sincere thanks to Dr. Charles Lisner, and the staff of the Dedicated Care Center, and all the staff at Harbors Edge. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at First Baptist Church of Norfolk by the Rev. Phillip Herring. H.D.
