Dorothy Cook Obituary

Dorothy Lewis Cook VIRGINIA BEACH - Dorothy Lewis Cook of the 4200 block of Shore Drive passed away April 11, 2010. Born in Norfolk to the late Eva and Luther Lewis, Dorothy was the widow of Edwin W. Cook. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany where she was active in the Sunday school. She was a member of the Little Creek Women's Club and was an avid bridge player. Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ashkenazi and husband Avraham of Norfolk; a son, Robert L. Cook and wife Dorothy of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister, Jean Nugent of Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren, Holly Young and Andrew Cook of Greensboro, N.C., Pamela Zettervall and Elizabeth Dorroh of Virginia Beach; and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany with the Rev. Richard D. Bridgeford officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon- brown.com. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to your local SPCA.
