Robert J. Jochens Jr. CHESAPEAKE - Robert J. Jochens Jr., 79, of the 2200 block of Wildwood Road, passed away April 11, 2010 in his home. A native of Portsmouth, he was the son of the late Lula Mae and Robert J. Jochens Sr. and the widower of Donna Jean Jochens. He was a founding partner of Boulevard Motors in Portsmouth. He was Past Grand Chancellor of the Knights of Pythias and a recipient of the The Golden Spur, a member of American Legion and a former Chesapeake volunteer fireman. He was a U.S. Naval veteran of the Korean War, BM3, U.D.T. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah J. Hand and husband Keith of Chesapeake; two sons, Robert J. Jochens III and wife Janice of South Mills, N.C., and Jeffrey W. Jochens of Chesapeake; six grandchildren, Stephanie M. Hand, Rachel S. Hand, Amanda J. Hand, Mark Caldwell, Stephen Caldwell and Sherrie Caldwell; a great- granddaughter, Baylee Jean Elizabeth; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jochens of Norfolk and Barbara Callis of Suffolk; nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, with Pastor James Rushing Jr. officiating. The burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
