Willie Lowe Obituary

Willie Reese Lowe Sr. TAZEWELL - Willie Reese Lowe Sr., 79, of the Thompson Valley community of Tazewell, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, W.Va. Born Jan. 11, 1931 at Arista, W.Va., he was a son of the late Walter Robert and Ruth Brown Lowe. He retired from Yukon Lumber Company in Norfolk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Lowe Atkins; and one brother, Garland E. Lowe. Survivors include his wife, Betty Wood Lowe; sons, Willie Reese Lowe Jr. and wife Christa of Bluefield, Va., Robert L. Lowe Sr. and wife Rosie of Thompson Valley, Va., Christopher W. Lowe of Norfolk; daughter, Brandy Marie Lowe and fiancé, Matt Gabrielse, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren; niece, Jennifer Lowe of Springville, Va.; and son-in-law, the Rev. Jim Atkins of Norfolk. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. today, April 16, at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, where the funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Denton and the Rev. Jim Atkins officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va.
