James Rogers Obituary

James Oskar Rogers VIRGINIA BEACH - James Oskar "Rusty" Rogers, 72, of the 2000 block of Falling Sun Lane, passed away April 16, 2010 in his home. A native of Lumberton, N.C., he was the son of the late Wavon and Millie Rogers. He was founder and owner of Rogers Electrical of Virginia Ltd. He was an avid NASCAR and Redskins fan but his first love was for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Vivian W. Rogers; six children, Kimberly Cole League (Blake) of Virginia Beach, James Rogers Jr. (Tammy) of Suffolk, Mark W. Rogers (Jen) of Virginia Beach, Jarod "Butch" Britt (Penny) of North Carolina, Stanley W. Britt (Debbie) of Florida and Connie Martorall (Kevin) of Virginia Beach; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He is also survived by his siblings, Jeanine Wenger Thorndyke (Luke), Earline Smith, Patricia Taylor (Leroy), Carl Rogers (Sarah), Danny K. Rogers (Wanda) and Deborah Sanderson; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Haskell and Michael Rogers. We would like to thank John Patterson, M.D. for his kind service and Sentara nurses and aides, Frances Blount, Cathy Funk and Peggy. A funeral will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. The burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. To Viv and the rest of the family - Rusty meant the world to me and I will miss him terribly. what a great man - he brought sunshine to so many people and made their lives better.
