Lee West Obituary

Lee K. West VIRGINIA BEACH - Lee K. West, 52, passed away in Virginia Beach Sunday, April 18, 2010. Lee grew up in Newport News and graduated from Ferguson High School, Class of 1975. He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Lenore Stringer. He is survived by his loving wife, Robin; sons, Garrett West of Pennsylvania and Ben West of New Jersey; and brother, John Stringer and wife Diane and their children, Emily and Ellen of Gloucester. He was also loved by stepdaughters, Megan Jernigan and Amber Lindros of Virginia Beach and had two grandchildren, Nathan Lee West of Pennsylvania and Gabriella Lindros of Virginia Beach. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends including a special Aunt Mae Cole of Chesapeake. Lee was a lead operator at Hampton Roads Sanitation District where he was employed for nearly 20 years. Lee was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle and will be dearly missed by those who loved him. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 24, at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502. Lee was truely an inspiration and great friend to many during the years we worked together in Williamsburg. To this day we still laugh about the "Good ol Days". He taught me many things not only about work but life as well. I am truely honored to call him my friend.
