Elmo Crocker Obituary

Elmo V. Crocker NORFOLK - Elmo Vaughan Crocker died April 22, 2010 in Virginia Beach. He was born Aug. 20, 1927 in Norfolk. Mr. Crocker was the son of the late Elmo Crocker of Seaboard, N.C., and the late Mary Alice Plummer Crocker of Portsmouth. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and serviced for many years as a radio operator in the Merchant Marines. Elmo was an avid ham radio operator and served many military families with phone patches to their loved ones at sea. He is survived by five children, William S. Bullington of Richmond, Va., John F. Bullington Sr. of Bowling Green, Ky., Andy S. Bullington of Norfolk, Beth Bullington Crow of Raleigh, N.C., and Mary Alice Crocker King of Norfolk. Elmo is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Jason Bullington Wells, Aisslynn Bullington Wilson, Clarissa Bullington, John F. Bullington II, Jessica Bullington, Jennifer Bullington, Amy Crow, Rob Crow, Jeffrey T. King and Alyson King. He had seven great-grandchildren, Ren, Alia, Colton, Raylee, Cova, Jocovy and Cayden. Service will be held Monday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2709 Greendale Ave., Norfolk. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held following the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, 870 Greenbrier Circle, Suite 404, Chesapeake, VA 23320 or to St. John's UMC Communion Fund.
