There are no common words to describe the uncommon fella who was loved by all. I considered Sparky - and still do - a musical mentor, a benchmark for aging without growing old, and, first and foremost, a truly good man. He spoke lovingly of his family, good naturedly about the Marine Corps, reverently of our Lord, and often in his belief in the power of prayer. His arthritic fingers still played the guitar from one end of the neck to the other, and, in spite of being short of breath, kept his wonderful singing voice right to the end. We know in our hearts that Sparky was in heaven long before he died. And though he is gone from us in person, he'll be in our memories forever.

I am so sorry to hear about the news of your father.....I have many fond memories of him and your mother in their home....especially Nellie's sweet tea and Sparky's dancing.....I am thinking of you all, Nancy, Sharon, Richard and my old friend Peggy....

There will never be another man like 'Sparky". He was one of the best people to walk this earth. I love and cherish the many moments our families spent together. He was loved, and will be sorely missed by many. Loretta and the Don Hall family.
