Eunice Fulford Obituary

Eunice Jean Fulford CHESAPEAKE - Eunice Jean Fulford, 74, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 3, 2010. She was born in Bayview, N.C. to the late Sam Watson and Margaret Watson-Butler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lee Fulford. She faithfully served the Lord and her ministry was the love she shared with dozens of children and parents to which she provided childcare for more than 30 years. Her favorite activities included gathering with family, talking to her daughters on the telephone, and enjoying her grandchildren. Children and family left to carry on her compassion and love are daughter, Elizabeth Troupe and Wayne Troupe of Chesterfield, Va.; son, Russell Wayne Fulford of Chesapeake; daughter, Margaret Jean Fulford of Knoxville, Tenn.; son, Richard Lee Fulford and Marteal Fulford of Knoxville, Tenn. Additionally, she leaves behind two stepsons, William and Allen Fulford of Virginia. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Jean is also survived by a brother, Tommy Watson of Washington, N.C. Jean's final request to her children was to simply "Not cry but rejoice" at her passing. A private family celebration for her homegoing will be held in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia at a later date. In place of flowers please consider donating to: the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and/or the Salvation Army.

"G-MA" WATCHED MY SON FROM THE TIME HE WAS SIX MONTHS UNTIL REACHING THE AGE OF THREE. HE LOVED GOING TO SPEND HIS DAYS WITH HER. HER LOVE AND DEVOTION TO THE CHILDREN WAS LIKE NO OTHER. I AM SO THANKFUL TO HAVE HAD THE CHANCE TO HAVE HER BE A PART OF OUR LIVES IF ONLY FOR A FEW SHORT YEARS. SHE WILL BE MISSED.

Jema, we will miss your smile and the way you cared for our children. But most of all, Jason and Megan will just miss you, period. You were a very special person, with a big heart and you were always giving of your self to others. May God Bless You and your family.
