Clara Deshields Obituary

Clara M. Deshields CHESAPEAKE - Clara McPherson Deshields, 87, of the 200 block of Primrose Lane, went to be with the Lord May 21, 2010 in Chesapeake. She was the daughter of the late Claude Howard and Lillian Wommack McPherson and the widow of Norman Willoughby Deshields. Mrs. Deshields was a member of the South Norfolk Congregational Church. Surviving are one son, Duane Alan Deshields of Chesapeake; one sister, Claudia Estelle Sawyer of Newport News; two brothers, Albert L. McPherson of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Claude L. McPherson of Chesapeake; two nieces, Karen Campen and Kathy Womack; other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby M. Campen and Elsie M. Faulkner and two brothers, Howard R. McPherson and Melvin McPherson. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, with the Rev. Amos Eby officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel.
