Mary Smith Obituary

Mary E. Smith VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary Elizabeth Smith, 77, passed away May 29, 2010. She was born to the late Carl and Eula Epperson in Chattanooga, Tenn., Feb. 7, 1933. Mary was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church and an auxiliary member of DAV Chapter 20. She loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren. Mary was a woman of courage. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 44 years, Larry W. Smith; sons, Kenneth Russell and wife Gladys of Indiana, Larry K. Smith and wife Kelly of Virginia Beach, Gary Smith and wife Irene of Norway (U.S. Air Force) and Terry Smith and wife Shannon of Chesapeake; daughter, Lynn Schunk of Washington; sister, Iva Beck and husband Keith of Texas; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Sentara Bayside Hospital, especially Dr. Neil Patel and Dr. Koki, for all the love and care they provided Mary through her illness. A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Christ Presbyterian Church, 709 Aragona Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23455.
