Holly Evans Obituary

Holly Evans ONLEY - Holly June Evans, 48, passed away peacefully June 3, 2010 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Throughout Holly's long battle with cancer, she inspired many with her encouraging attitude and unwavering faith. Holly was born Oct. 10, 1961 to Jerry Gordon Evans and June Horsey Evans. Other than her parents, she is survived by a brother, Terry G. Evans and wife Julie; nephews, Josh and Cody Evans; her faithful dog, Buddy; aunt, Dawn E. Dize; cousins, Wayne Dize and wife Anne, Cindy Dize Franklin and husband Robert; and many wonderful friends. She was a graduate of The E. Claiborne Robins School of Business, University of Richmond, was an active member of Market Street United Methodist Church, the Carrie Radcliffe Circle, the "Friends for the Spiritual Life" Committee, and she started a bible on wheels ministry. She was a past president of the Delmarva Safety Association. A service to celebrate Holly's life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 6, at Market Street United Methodist Church in Onancock, with the Rev. G. Wayne Parsley officiating. Friends will be received at the home of her parents in Onley at any time or at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will gather at Fairview Lawn Cemetery for interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Market Street United Methodist Church, 75 Market St., Onancock, VA 23417; Hospice and Palliative Care of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market St., Suite No. 3, Onancock, VA 23417; or Relay For Life Eastern Shore, c/o Mrs. Paula Belote, P.O.
