Katherine Clyde Dugan VIRGINIA BEACH - Katherine Clyde "Kay" Dugan, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by many members of her family at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, June 6, 2010. Born Nov. 16, 1922 in the Ocean View area of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late John Taliaferro Evans and Eddie Clyde Fentress Evans. She married Jesse Eugene Dugan Jr. of Salina, Kan., on June 21, 1947. She is survived by their children, Jere Edwards and her husband Rick of Marion, Ind., Kathy Capuano and her husband Charles of Moyock, N.C., and Jesse "Buck" Dugan and his wife Sharon of Chesapeake. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Debra Ann, grandson Bryan Dugan, brothers John Evans, Herbert Ray Evans, sister Elvira Cassidy and stepbrother Linwood Lewis. She loved and will be sadly missed by her surviving children, their spouses as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many dear friends and her loving and faithful dog, Mason who loved her so much. We thank our cousin Michele and her husband Danny Cooke, who were such attentive caregivers to our mom. The family will receive friends at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, today from 7 to 9 p.m. A chapel service will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA.
