I have wonderful memories of Aunt Orian while visiting the Petty's during my summer vacation when I was a little girl. I just loved spending time at her house on the lake and also fishing from the dock. One of my favorite times with her was several years ago at a family reunion in Bedford, Va; she spent the night and brought enough clothes for a week!

I have wonderful memories of Aunt Orian when I was a little girl. Always beautiful, always loving and ALWAYS FUN!!!!!! Several years ago she came out to visit my mother in Bedford VA with my Uncle Lee and Aunt Esther, we had a real blue grass shin dig and she 'cut the rug' with the rest of us...........of course her pocket book matched her outfits!!!!!
I will always have a special place in my heart for her. How grateful I am, how better my life for having known her!!

Aunt Orian was a true gem. She was a Petty through and through, had class, grace, a certain elegance about her and a huge heart. She adored her family and friends, as they adored her. I am thankful for the many memories, particularly of the family get togethers up on the mountain. Aunt Orian will be sorely missed by us all.

Aunt Orian was truly a "class act." She was married to my dad's brother & was the perfect wife to him. Though they did not have children, she adopted all of the Petty kids as her own. She treated us all so well. She was so full of love and willing to share it. She will be missed so much by so many of us lucky enough to share her love.

My Aunt Orian was a special person to all that knew her. She could hunt and fish with the best of them and I enjoyed many trips to her house as a child looking out over the lake. She was "old school Chesapeake Beach". She could cook a meal of fresh fried fish that was to die for and she was an excellent homemaker, a devoted wife, aunt and a friend to many. She was very active in her church and many civic organizations. Aunt Orian was married to my mother's brother in her first marriage and was instantly adopted as a "Petty" because so was so loved by everyone. She had style, grace, a lot of class and a heart as big as the outdoors and we will all miss her dearly.
