Courtney McDonald Obituary

Courtney McDonald NORFOLK - Courtney Hugh McDonald answered the call of our Heavenly Father May 19, 2010. He was born June 27, 1931 to the late Chester F. McDonald and Mary L. McDonald. He was in the Army in the 1950s and retired from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on April 30, 1993. Courtney was a kind and gentle soul who had a wonderful sense of humor and he loved to read. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mary McDonald; brothers, John, James, Douglas, Edgar, Jimmy and Chester; and sisters, Mary and Vivian. He is survived by his wife, Betty L. McDonald; two stepchildren, Bobby and Kimberly; brothers, Gary McDonald and wife Pat, Herbert "Buck" McDonald and wife Gladys; sisters, Margaret Ferrell, Evelyn Schmidt, Elsie Merrill, Frances Garrett, Virginia Layton and husband Bill, Colleen Chapman and husband Shelby, Betty Chapman; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Courtney will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he will live forever in our hearts.

I am sorry to hear of Mr. McDonald's passing. My grandfather was Mr. McDonald's 1st cousin. I am Herbert L. Richardson's granddaughter, Cynthia Susan Richardson Dashiell. I am the daughter of Warren L. Richardson, called Skippy by the family, My father would be interested in establishing contact with you. 757-426-6830. He is working on the family

So sorry to hear of Courtney's death. Although I have not seen him in years and years I only have pleasant memories from childhood. He was one of my handsome uncles and a friend to my big brother.
