David Ellison Obituary

David J. Ellison CHESAPEAKE - David Joseph Ellison, 71, passed away June 11, 2010. Mr. Ellison was a retired master chief gunners mate with the U.S. Navy with more than 30 years of dedicated service. During his naval career, he was the recipient of several awards and medals including three Bronze Stars. He was an avid fisherman and loved his boat "Daves World." He built his own fishing rods and lures. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Diana E. Ellison; one son, David Ellison and his wife Colleen of Virginia Beach; one daughter, Trisha McElheney and her husband Dan of Norfolk; one sister, Joyce Luster of Hernando, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Bridget Ellison and Ashley and Heather McElheney. David was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather who will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 17, at 6 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, Virginia Beach. Online condolences may be made at www.hdoliver.com.
