Susan Hudson Obituary

Susan S. Hudson CHESAPEAKE - Susan S. Hudson, 83, went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2010. Born in Eagle Rock (Lick Run), Va., she was the daughter of the late Corbin and Duffle Swoope. Mrs. Hudson was a devout Christian and was an active member and Sunday School teacher at South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW Post 4809, Norfolk. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Hudson and is survived by her sister, Viola Haislip and her husband William; three children; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She had a heart for people, putting others first before her own needs; she not only reared her own children but her grandchildren also, giving a new meaning to the title, "a virtuous woman." A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 360 Southport Circle, No. 104, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
