My deepest sympathy goes out to the Basnight family for their loss. David was a wonderful person and friend. We always had lots of fun in the band. He was a great and Talented Musician. You will be missed David. Reginald Smith also send his deepest sympathy as well. We loved you but God loved you more. Rest in Peace David.

David was a mentor to me... I met him at age 14 and he taught me chord structure. I am now 45.. What I learned in the few weeks from him has been with me my lifetime.. He will be missed.. My prayers go out to the family..

My deepest prayers go out to the Basnight family. I knew David when I was growing up as a child in Berkley. I had the pleasure of working with him on the Berkley Reunion Committee for several years. He was a very talented musician, but most of all he was a dear friend to our family. He use to stop by our house to talk to my mom (Miss Ruby)
and he would watch out for us crossing Indian River Road. I will truly miss him and his music. May God keep you in his divine strength. God Bless

Condolences from Wendy Walker Hinton and Laverne Bailey Key;
Jacksonville, Florida. Basnight has been a part of the Walker family for as long as I can remember. We loved him and will truly miss him.
Daddy and Basnight can now play riffs together and he can continue to play His music his way. HAH, CHA, PAH, TAH, SAH. LaVerne played her flute at a memorial service we had for you. Love to the family.
