Fannie Twiddy Obituary

Fannie H. Twiddy EDENTON - Fannie Holmes Twiddy, 92, formerly of Jackson Street, died Monday, July 5, 2010 in Brian Center of Windsor, N.C. Mrs. Twiddy was born in Tyrrell County and was the daughter of the late Nelson and Mamie Alexander Holmes. Retired after 46 years of employment at Edenton Cotton Mill, she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Twiddy; a daughter, Shirley Twiddy; a brother, Jasper Holmes; and a sister, Lena White. Surviving are two daughters, Peggy T. Byrum and husband Wayland and Patsy T. Hughes and husband Edward; a granddaughter, Stacey Rich and husband Mark; and a great-grandson, Walker Byrum Rich, all of Edenton; a brother, Roy Holmes of Ventura, Calif.; and a special family friend, Ellie Yoerges of Kitty Hawk. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. Bob Young and the Rev. Thomas Biggs. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the chapel service and other times at the home of her daughter, Patsy, 100 Tip Toe Road, Edenton.
