Clara Joyner NORFOLK - Clara Joyner, 94, of the 1200 block of Bunsen Ct., passed away July 15, 2010 at Sentara Nursing Center. She was born Jan. 29, 1916 to the late Laura Bullock and Claude Swinson in Bull Head Township, North Carolina. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Logan Park. She was predeceased by her husband, H. B. Joyner; four daughters and one son. She is survived by one daughter, Hadie Whitfield; two sons, Ernest Joyner (Brenda) and J. Douglas Joyner (Pamula); 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; seven great-great- grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Logan Park, 7493 Diven St., Norfolk. Elder J. Douglas Joyner D.D. will officiate. Interment will be in St. Delight Church Cemetery, Walstonburg, N.C. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Chapel.
