Herbert Davis Obituary

Herbert Lee Davis VIRGINIA BEACH - Herbert Lee Davis, 60, of the 1200 block of General St., passed away Aug. 6, 2010 in a local hospital. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Herbert P. and Evelyn H. Davis. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a distribution clerk after 17 years of service and was an Army veteran. He did Bible study with the Jehovah's Witnesses for six years. He was a martial arts instructor since 1984 and was an avid photographer and artist. He is survived by his wife, Minnie A. Davis; a daughter, Stephanie A. Davis of Norfolk; two sons, Christopher L. Davis and Andre N. Davis, both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Pearl Roscoe and Marry Rizzo; two brothers, Clifford Davis and Tony Davis, all of Ohio; and three grandsons, Mykal, Matthew and Reylen. A funeral will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, with Mr. Paul Xenakis officiating. The burial will follow in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or CHKD.
